installation, proof of concept & trial
proof of concept
Installation (and maintenance) services are the differentiators in technology projects. Our approach with regard to installation is to carefully scope out the requirements, to identify where the existing infrastructure integrates with the new.
The lowest risk way of identifying the integration tasks when installing a new IoT solution within your existing infrastructure, is to use a small Proof of Concept (PoC).
The PoC is important in that it is used to identify technical risks. It can also be used to help the various stakeholders, to really see and understand what the new IoT solution will deliver. The PoC can often be the point at which an innovative idea transitions to a Business Project.
being cautious
The safest way to install something is to understand it and to do that in a safe, off-line environment. We always recommend starting with a proof of concept (PoC) to make sure your team and ours understand exactly what the risks are.
The next step is usually a carefully planned pilot, with clearly laid out processes and a detailed “back-out” plan. This cautious approach delivers the best possible Outcomes.
project planning
We use Prince2 project planning methodology, as it is aligned to projects involving software, hardware, installation, support and international logistics.
Prince2 also has a strong focus on cost management and achieving stages, in a timely manner and meeting agreed quality levels. In Prince2, the word quality means fit for purpose, i.e. the delivered product meets the agreed requirements.
software
We can design our IoT solutions so they integrate with your existing solutions, and your incumbent support company/staff can maintain it.
Or we can agree a support package with you ourselves. Importantly because we carefully document our software implementations, you always have control, in terms of support options.
delivered globally in a cabinet
Power, battery back-up, network router/switch, gateway, keyboard all professionally wired, and installed in a steel cabinet, to the IP standard you need.
We know how to design and specify systems so they operate in the hottest environments without active air conditioning, or in the coldest environments, without any active heating. This type of design reduces the cost, but more importantly reduces the fault chain exposure. i.e. no air conditioning or heating unit to go faulty.
Everything will be pre-tested, including staging at our offices or yours. We will normally manage all international export and shipping arrangements.
We can arrange for our third-party international installation & support company to offer remote, on-site assistance if needed.
guiding principles

quality
To do all that, we work closely with your project stakeholders, partly to keep them updated, but also to make sure they know that what we are delivering is what they agreed to.

efficiency

pricing
This partnering process reduces our cost of sale because our partners help us, as they know if we “win” then they “win”. You also benefit because our partnering reduces your overall costs and importantly makes the project much more transparent.
